Test Faq 1 Question

Test Faq 1 Answer

NVRs

Can I connect a switch into the POE ports on the back of the NVR?

Yes you can connect a switch into one of the POE ports on the back of the NVR, however we suggest a maximum of 4 cameras running through a single POE port. The cameras would also need manually assigning IP addresses and manually added to the NVR.

Can I record an Audio Input direct to my NVR?

No, the audio input on NVR’s is for 2 way communication, in order to record audio on a NVR it must come from an IPC that supports an Audio input.

How do I enable virtual host on the NVR?

To enable the virtual host function you need to login to the NVR via the web front end, go to configuration and then network and advanced settings and then other and press the tick box and press save.

what is the RTSP path for NVR channels

rtsp://<username>:<password>@<ip>:<port>/h.264/<ch>/<main>/av_stream

<username>: a valid user’s username.

<password> :user’s password.

<ip> :the IP address

<port >:the default port is 554.

<channelNo> :the channel number. (It starts from ch33).

<main> :the stream type. either "main" or "sub"

example path for a NVR's ch1 (all NVRs start at ch33 for ch1) for a custom protocol

"/h.264/ch33/main/av_stream"

Can my NVR support a DS-1006KI Keyboard?

It depends on the model of your Recorder. It needs to have a KB socket for it to accept an RS485 Keyboard Connection. This can be found at the back of the unit, typically adjacent to the Alarm Input connections.

How do I assign cameras to live view on the recorder

GUI4: Go to System, Live view and select the output in question and set the live view mode to the grid view of your desire (1x1, 2x2, 3x3, etc) Then go to view and select what cameras you want to display o the output

GUI3: Go to Menu, Configuration, Live view and select the live view mode then go to view and select what cameras he wants to display on the output.

TVI Cameras

Can I disable the IR at night on Hikvision TVI 3 camera ?

Yes, enter the Camera OSD menu and go into the main menu, enter the day/night sub menu  where  you will see an option labelled INFRARED, set this option to CLOSE to disable the infra red output in periods of low light - remember to save your changes before exiting the OSD menu.

What is the approx. field of view for Hikvision 3MP TVI 3.0 F series cameras?

The F series cameras have a different aspect ratio therefore the field of view differs from the D series, the apporx filed of view for the F series is 80 degree for 2.8mm lens models and 60 degree for 3.6mm lens models.

Why do some of the current models have a black plastic front facia?

This is an anti reflective cover and prevents IR from reflecting back towards the LED array, it provides approximately an extra 10% illumination from the IR in night time conditions.

My TVI Camera is showing up black and white on my Recorder, why?

Is your Camera the right resolution to your recorder? Check what resolutions your Recorder supports and the resolution of your camera.

Wireless

Will my Nano Beams / Ligo Waves work via the PoE ports on the rear of my NVR

Both will work however they will still require the included PoE injectors to power your wireless device

Ideally the IP address of your wireless devices will want to be in the same range as the PoE (default 192.168.254)

if is a simple 1 IPC over a link back to the recorder, then "plug and play" should work fine

If you have more than 1 IPC to the back of the recorder then each of your IPC's must have their IP address assigned manually to the position on the NVR you want them to appear

Things to consider when installing Nano beams / Ligo waves

1, Line of sight is preferable when using these devices, if no line of sight is available the quality in signal strength can differ wildly the lower the signal the lower the bandwidth achievable by each link

2, Output power, if you are using these links over shorter distances i.e 100/200m etc then output power of each side of the device should be reduced to prevent over shooting and incurring interference from other sources, both type of devices have Realtime monitors built in that should help you adjust the power to achieve the best for your install

3, PoE, both Ligo waves and Nano beams use 24v PoE (injectors included) these will not power from a standard PoE switch or the rear of a NVR

4, Firmware, make sure all connected wireless devices are on the same version of the Firmware as this can sometimes cause problems
